Know a good teacher

Roy Burns is one of the few drummers, whose career covered almost all areas of the music business. He is a Big Band drummer, studio drummer, soloists, teachers, coaches clinic drums, authors, publishers and manufacturers. He joined the Rogers Drum Company as a staff artist. Starting in 1968 until 1980, Roy crossed the globe as a clinician for Rogers, became one of America's first drummer who held a clinic in Europe, Far East, Australia, Canada, Scandinavia, and New Zealand. In 1980, Roy founded the Aquarian Accessories Corporation, manufacturer of percussion products is important. Roy is currently devoting most of his time to Aquarian, Rhythmic Publications (publishing company), and teaching activities. Roy Burns has performed with Benny Goodman, Lionel Hampton, Woddy Herman, Tonight Show, Merv Griffin Show, Charles Mingus, Jonah Jones, Dick Grove Big Band, Mike Stern, Monterey Jazz Festival, and the NBC Staff Orchestra.

A good teacher can give a lot of things tohis students . Unfortunately, he can not enter the abilities, talents, or desires into the person of the pupil. There is no teacher who can teach how to play to someone. It must be learned through experience and flying hours. But let us not underestimate the importance of a good teacher. He can help his students through a variety of ways. He can do the following things.
1. Help students develop good technique.
2. Helping students learn to read music.
3. Helping students learn to listen (ear training).
4. Helping students prepare for the situation contests, auditions, and working.
5. Provide support.
6. Delivering criticism and reevaluation when his students start over in assessing his performance, or when the student began to regard himself as the greatest.
7. Mention the names of drummers who play need to be heard by the student.
8. Helps students develop an awareness and understanding of the forces different game.
9. Discuss the difficulties faced by students. Some of the best lessons emerge from this activity.
10. Helping students learn the basics of music and drumming.
